Research Project: Costume as Agent

“Costume as Agent” is a research project that investigates costume as a crucial and central aspect of the performance. Costume that renders ideas physical and embodies thoughts. Costume, that reveals the relationship between dress, body and movement in a way that causes us to question the extent to which it co-authors the performance with the performer.
How does costume articulate an infinitely complex relationship between movement, material, form and affect? How does it transform the human body – visually, physically, in motion and in the charged context of a shared performance?
